October Magic – Let’s Hope It’s O’s Magic and Not Same Old Yankees Bull

It’s time for October magic.  I hope that it’s Orioles magic we see and not Yankee bull.   Smack Apparel still has faith.  Orioles’ nation has faith.  #BUCKleup Baltimore.  I’m wearing my rally cap and “Dick is a Yankees Fan” gear.  It’s our “Shirt of the Week”.

Joe Saunders will take the Bump for the good guys and the Evil Empire is sending Phil Hughes out.  Saunders was great in his lasting outing against Texas in the wildcard play-in game allowing one earned run on six hits over 5 2/3 innings.  Phil Hughes has given up 20 earned runs during the month of September in six starts.  If Saunders can keep the Yankee lineup quiet the Orioles bats will get their chance to make a stand.

Baltimore has been lights out, 76-0, all season when leading after the 7th inning.  Raul Ibanez changed all that in the 9th inning of game 3 while pinch-hitting for Alex Rodriguez.  Ibanez hit a solo shot with one out in the top of the 9th inning tying the game at two all.  Both teams remained tied until Ibanez struck again with a walk off solo shot to lead off the twelfth inning.

Baltimore was two outs away from taking a 2-1 series lead over New York and needing to win only one of the next two games to advance.  With the loss, the Orioles have to win both remaining games on the road in New York.
