Turn Out The Lights, The Party Is Over San Fran! Blackout on Bourbon

SB Ray LewisRay’s last stand was a memorable one.   1st and Goal for the 49ers at the Ravens 7 yardline.  LaMichael James 2 yards on the ground over the right side.  2nd and Goal, Kaepernick incomplete pass intended for Crabtree.  3rd and Goal, Kaepernick incomplete pass intended for Crabtree.  4th and Goal, Kaepernick incomplete pass intended for Crabtree.

Ball game! 34-31 Ravens!

More than Ray Lewis’s last stand,  Joe Flacco’s MVP performance,   San Francisco’s comeback effort, and “Bro Bowl I” between the Harbaugh’s;  Super Bowl XLVII will be remembered for the blackout in the Superdome.

SB Kickoff ReturnThe Ravens were leading 28-6 after Jacoby Jones returned the opening kickoff of the second half 108 yards for a touchdown and the 49ers were facing 3rd and 13 from their own 40 when the lights went out.  Two-thirds of the lights in the Superdome went out due to an apparent power surge causing a 34 minute game delay in which the 49ers came roaring out of.  San Francisco was able to flip the momentum and 17 unanswered points later the Niners were with in five with three minutes left in the 3rd quarter.  The blackout reminded me of a fighter getting knocked down only to be saved by the bell.

SB MVPIn the end, Baltimore was able to hang on and walk out of New Orleans with another title.  Joe Flacco finished with 287 yards passing with 3 TD’s earning him MVP honors and Ray Lewis is headed out on top.
